I have to admit that I don’t watch as much vintage porn as I would like and I really don’t know why. I used to spend a lot of time on sites such as Rodox. Just frolicking in the porn of the past. Now I am back to dig into the history of porn for everyone’s benefit.

I went back to Rodox and reignited my love affair with vintage porn. However, that wasn’t enough for me, so I decided to visit even more vintage porn sites. Which then somehow managed to send me on a quest to discover the origins of porn. Which I am about to tell you, right now.

Porn has been traced back over 30,000 years by paleontologists. Yes, you read that correctly. Porn goes all the way back to the stone age. That is when our ancestors scrawled images of large breasted women on cave walls and carved nude pregnant women out of wood. Of course, these latter figurines were probably more for religious purposes instead of sexual purposes, but nudity is still nudity.

Now we can fast forward to the Romans; a people who used phallic symbols wherever they got the chance. They had pictures of dicks on uniforms, on the sides of buildings and even on the street. These people were really obsessed with the dick and saw it as a symbol of male power.

However, the Romans didn’t just have pictures and paintings of cocks laying around. They also had some pretty raunchy porn. Porn that included pussy eating, threesomes and just about every form of debauchery you could think of seeing.

While those are interesting parts of the vintage porn story, I don’t believe that is when modern porn developed. After all, most of these crude depictions of naked human bodies and sexual acts served other purposes besides just sexual fulfillment. They were also used as political statements or used in a philosophical way. True modern porn wouldn’t develop until the 17th century; at least in my view.

Erotic novels were developed during the 1600s, and some of these were pretty raunchy. If you were literate enough to read them. Which’lets face facts here’a lot of people weren’t. Fortunately, in the mid 19th century photography came into its own and pornographers began to immediately take advantage of this brand spanking new technology. And that is when true porn was born, my friends.

And from there it has just exploded. What started out as photographs became series of photographs and then eventually, films. Films then became videos, which in turn became Internet videos. Now you can see just about every filthy act that you could ever want to see. Truly, a modern miracle of sexual expression.

Yet, with all of the pornographic goodness that exists out there I still have a deep love for vintage porn sites like The Classic Porn. Videos from a simpler, hotter and more erotic time. A time when people fucked because they loved to fuck.
