That’s because only the very wealthy could afford to be fat. If you were poor, then you were more likely to be emaciated.

This is when BBW women were really in fashion. A woman who could afford to have extra weight had more access to resources and was probably healthier. It was the standard that lasted for hundreds of years. If you were fat, then you were desirable.

While that might be somewhat of an oversimplification, it still pretty much holds true. If you have access to money’and all that brings, including time’then you are probably thinner and weigh a lot less than poor people who are fattened up by cheap sugars, growth hormones and other food additives.
