During 2011, there are going to be more people returning to work. It is believed that U.S companies will add over 2.4 million people to their payrolls by the end of this year. Unfortunately, this will have little effect on the unemployment rate, which is predicted to hover around 9%. This is there isn’t enough job creation to fully absorb the new applicants to the labor force.

The last prediction for 2011 that I would like to talk about is the U.S. post office limiting Saturday mail. This may begin in November, but many insiders believe that it will actually happen in October. The cutting of Saturday services will save the post office roughly 3 billion dollars a year.
