When the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise introduced BDSM for the unwashed masses, the creators of Whiplr thought of a booming business plan and created an app where no one needs to introduce nor to apologize for their inclination for a good healthy S&M session. If you are familiar with the usual dating apps, the exchange of conversation, images and other media is pretty standard here as well. There are public group chats where Whipsters, as the users are called, can share their fantasies, but in all fairness, most fantasies are reserved for private chats.

After signing up, the user must select their kinks, which is basically the same as setting up the ‘Looking for’ or ‘My tribe’ sections on other apps. Whiplr is location-based as well, so look out for familiar faces who might pop up, now you’ll get to know what your neighbor is really into!

From domination to bootlicking, blow up dolls and slaves, you can select up to 10 kinks that define you, which will lead you to users who share your preferences. You can get lost in private convos too, which usually involve negotiating, sharing standard practices of condom use, the leather vs. latex debate, fetish gears and toys in general, and you can even attend fetish gatherings and meetups, which are discussed in the public chat and at the Events section.
