This site currently has somewhere in the region of 600,000+ photo sets and well over 300,000 videos available to view. The photos vary in size and quality across the site and galleries are not available for download. The videos are available in MP4 to stream only and are available, once again, in a multitude of sizes and quality. Updates are, as expected, extremely frequent and complete dependent on the uploaders and performers.
I’m surprised that more sites like My Dirty Hobby aren’t making a name for themselves these days. I can remember sites having a stab at the kind of model exhibited by this site from as far back as 10 or 12 years ago but this is one of the very few that have really made a go of it and, subsequently, become a success as well. I think that this kind of site model has to be the future for porn – a mix of recorded content, live cam shows and content on demand that also allows performers from all backgrounds to make a success of themselves with modelling agency and studio contracts.
It’s great to see a site like this eat away at the dominance of major porn studios stuck in the late 1990s with the same sort of cookie-cutter hardcore content. Here you don’t only get great content from a wide variety of different performers, but you also have that much-desired accessibility to the performers that so many people like these days. It’s not really a ‘social network’ site as such but that hardly matters – this is a multi-purpose porn site with so much to offer just about all tastes.
User Interface
This site is very well presented indeed and I think for a site that has so many different types of content and performers to keep a handle on, it manages to keep its user interface well in order.
The indexes are extremely crisp, the layout is very well designed, but I think special praise should go to the site’s search facilities, which allowed me to track down extremely specific model types with no issues at all.
Conclusion
My Dirty Hobby seems to have garnered a mixed response from critical circles in the porn community but I think this is a marvellous site that is finally fulfilling its promise as a multi-faceted adult portal.
Of course, the content quality will be mixed, some of the fees may be steep, and it may be hijacked by professional performers and producers to an extent. But for those wanting an all-round porn experience where they get to specifically choose everything they watch, this does the business.
