BDSM Is Not A Fad

Unless you have been living under a rock these past twelve months, then you are probably familiar with the BDSM trend that has been sweeping the world. Normal couple engaging in acts that are better suited on porn sites such as The Training Of O, then in the bedrooms of couples.

Now don’t get me wrong here. I understand that bondage and domination is practiced by many people all over the world and the practices that can be found on The Training Of O is often used by these couples or sexual partners. There is nothing wrong with that. I am disagreeing with the fact that many people are embracing it because of a fad.

BDSM is an exact and disciplined sexual practice that shouldn’t just be casually embraced by those who want to try it out because they read an erotic novel. If it’s not done correctly or with a certain level of proficiency, by at least one of the people involved, then it can not only be not very pleasurable but can become dangerous.

Yet here we all talking about a bunch of housewives who decided that after they put down their copy of 50 Shades of Gray they want to try it out for themselves. Many of them enter into this practice blindly without giving it any thought whatsoever. I guess they figured that they would get a Whipped Ass and that would be about it. They didn’t realize that there is a lot more to BDSM than that.

Which, of course, is what is happening to the trend. A lot of people are realizing that it involves a lot more than they thought it would. That is why this fad is trending downwards again, and it will continue to do so until the movie comes out. Then it will likely spike again. Although I am pretty sure it shouldn’t.

I am not being disparaging. If you have a genuine interest in BDSM, then by all means indulge in it. But don’t do it on a whim. Take the time to find out if this is a lifestyle that you might actually enjoy. Learn more about it. Talk to people who engage in this lifestyle and visit porn sites such as Hard Tied. Do your homework and if you are still interested then by all means pursue it. Just don’t treat it like the Rubik’s cube or the pet rock.

Well, that is all I wanted to say about this new fad. A fad that has already significantly offended people who treat this lifestyle seriously. BDSM is never an act to be taken lightly. It is something that requires careful consideration between you and your partner. If you take it seriously and just don’t jump on the bandwagon like everyone else, then you might find a side to yourself that you never knew existed.
