This page explains the rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union and the UK GDPR, and how to use them with HonestPornReviews. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes in full what we collect.
Who Is Responsible for Your Data
HonestPornReviews is the data controller for the personal data described on this page. You can reach us about anything on this page at webmaster@honestpornreviews.com.
What We Process and Why
You can read the whole site without an account, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies or third-party analytics. We process personal data only in these cases, each with its legal basis under Article 6 of the GDPR:
- Server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, time): kept for security and troubleshooting. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working.
- Comments (the name, score and comment you publish, plus the IP address and browser stored privately): used to publish and moderate comments and stop spam. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a moderated comment section.
- Messages you send us by email or the contact form (your name, email address and message): used only to reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps you ask for before a contract.
- Deal alerts (your email address, the site you chose, your language and dates): used only to email you about deals. Legal basis: your consent, given when you confirm the sign-up, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
- Review requests from site owners (name, email address, site details and any review login): used only to carry out the review. Legal basis: steps you ask us to take before an agreement, and our legitimate interest in reviewing sites.
- Language preference (the hpr_lang cookie, holding only a language code such as fr_FR): set only when you pick a language, so the site keeps showing in it. It is strictly necessary for the feature you asked for, so it does not need consent.
We do not sell or rent personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not make decisions about you by automated means or profiling.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access: ask whether we hold personal data about you and get a copy of it.
- Rectification: have inaccurate data corrected or incomplete data completed.
- Erasure: have your data deleted, for example a comment you posted or an email thread.
- Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data while a question about it is resolved.
- Portability: receive data you gave us in a common, machine-readable format.
- Objection: object to processing based on our legitimate interests; we will stop unless we have compelling grounds to continue.
- Withdraw consent: where we rely on your consent (deal alerts), withdraw it at any time. This does not affect processing before you withdrew it.
- Complain: lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in the country where you live or work, or where you think the problem happened. We would appreciate the chance to sort it out with you first.
How to Make a Request
Email webmaster@honestpornreviews.com or use our contact form, and say which right you want to use. To help us find your data, include the name and email address you used, and for a comment the page it is on.
Requests are free. We reply within one month, and tell you within that month if a complex request needs up to two more. We may ask for information to confirm the request is really from you before we act on it.
How Long We Keep Data
Comments are kept for as long as the review they belong to is published, unless you ask us to remove one. Messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with them. Deal alert addresses are deleted when you unsubscribe, and unconfirmed sign-ups after a week. Review request details are kept only while the review is carried out.
Where Data Is Stored
The site is run on hosting and content delivery services that may process data outside the European Economic Area and the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by safeguards the GDPR recognizes, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
Adults Only
This site is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger; if you believe a minor has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Page
If the way we handle personal data changes, we will update this page and our Privacy Policy before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows when this page last changed.
