Verso Cinema is the official website of a porn label that looks set to push the boundaries of conventional and contemporary porn to places it has never been before, with unique and exclusively produced content.
Transgressive, progressive and overseen by those who have their origins in mainstream cinema, this is porn that seeks to stimulate your mind as much as your body, while retaining all the eroticism that it needs.
Review
This site currently features 24 videos, but there are currently no photo galleries or screenshot sets on this site that we could see. The videos are usually available to view in Flash and MP4 formats to stream and download, displaying at a highest resolution of 1920×1080 (5500kbps). The current update schedule of this site is unknown but it looks as though the site generally adds one or two new videos every month.
As we see more and more unsimulated sex scenes creeping into mainstream cinema, the lines between porn and mainstream are becoming increasingly blurred – just look at Gaspar Noe’s recent film, Love, for instance. Verso Cinema is a site and label that takes things in the opposite direction. Here’s a porn site that, when it comes to plotting, performances and aesthetic almost seems to be a level above pretty much everything that I have seen in porn. Is it porn or is too mainstream for that’
These kinds of questions are all well and good but most of you are here for good porn – and you will get it. It’s true to say that these ‘movies’ do spend a while on ‘non-porn’ stuff but when the action starts there’s a real phalanx of ideas and themes here. This is not a site that seeks to conform to particular niches and it’s also notable that the performers are mostly little known in porn circles – they seem to be actually be more like mainstream actors performing in a more adult realm.
User Interface
The navigation here is very good indeed. The video options were excellent when it comes to both streaming and downloading and the download speeds were also pretty good, and there good descriptions too.
The update information wasn’t as helpful as it could be at the moment, but there is lots of info about the content and about the site / label and those who are behind the production of the content here. All of which was very interesting and welcome.
Conclusion
Verso Cinema is a site that sets some pretty lofty goals for itself but it definitely has the personnel and talent behind it to pull them all off. There is already a wealth of interesting content here.
It’s perhaps going to be more of interest to those of you who like a lot more thought and artistic merit in porn, but those of you looking for something really hot to watch as well, really shouldn’t discount what this has to offer.
